These other forums that I'm looking at with the better layouts are all free. Some good stuff going on. Same website that we have going on here just a different skin and other features that we can use. It makes the place look a lot more serious. Just my 2 pesos but if we keep it this way - that's fine. I just think putting a little more thought into the forum shows how serious we are about this. It can motivate the new guys.

create one yo

if it's truly better, we can move there and u can admin it... id have no prob with that

shit, i kinda wish i let someone else create this site so i didnt have to worry about my name being attached to it in case something legal came up, LOL

thats partly why i chose to hold back admin powers, so i can check into this

i really hope u didnt take it as just something personal... cuz like i just said, id have no prob moving to a diff forum that someone else runs

It's not about me being admin. I don't mind that you're admin. I just think the site can have a better layout. This isn't the best one, I was looking at all the layouts and colors. They're some seriously good sites on these forums with cool logos and other things. Just imagine if we had a very serious website to start off. That would set the bar higher for us when we create the REAL one. And it would let the new guys know that we mean business and this isn't some kid shit.

I just thought it'd be easier to change this one since it's already set up.

And nah, everything's cool.

See, and to think you guys are giving them these ideas for basically free! We will actually make sure to follow through on the good ideas. Not be like EOG and say 'great idea' and never do anything.

Really, if you think about it, the more we let others contribute and give us idea, the less work for us. It's great that many poster are so willing to go above and beyond to help out a site they like, we should encourage this whenever we can.

Maybe even do a once a week thread where we ask for people to come up with ideas, and the forum can vote on the best one, and we can implement it. Actually once a month would probably be realistic, but you get the point.

Fair enough...

I'd be more comfortable tho if u just took the drive over here and we went over shit together.

You know I'm defensive and after talking to someone about this, I decided it was smart to keep ahold of the admin so that I'm guaranteed nothing comes up, rather intentional or unintentional.

But yes, we could use something a lil better. If you saw the original forum, you'd think this was a million times better

Yes.. I totally agree

Razz and I couldn't believe they just dismissed our ideas like that.

Altho Ken loved my Winning Wednesdays idea, u think that gets implemented?

Shit, I tried to get him to replace the Power Posters of the week with Positive and Productive posters of the week where instead of highlighting us that just posted a lot, highlight those that produce and keep the atmosphere positive

Kenny flat out stole my stupid idea that I had Integrity tell him about, LOL.

You guys remember that marathon that Ditka won? That was my idea but he changed it up and made it a lot harder. LOL Poor Ditka did it though since he needs the money. Understandable - good kid.

Point is, he changed it up a little bit and took credit. No biggie. But anyway - EOG seems to be stuck on neutral and not caring. They like it the way it is. Any time you offer a great idea, they tell you, "Oh that's great..." but never do anything with it.

That's what sets SBR apart from EOG. SBR actually puts these ideas into action. Look at all the shit they have over there. SBR LINES, TONS OF CONTESTS, VIDEOS, ETC. They get things done.

Yup

but, we need him to seize on my Winning Wednesdays ideas

I may get credit by JK on the air for my idea (which helps us for later)

Chute may get potential rebates at the sponsor

and Joey will get his list of the top cappers that he has asked for...

He prob won't ever implement them, but if we all push for it, perhaps...

I'm throughly impressed with how robust the offering are at SBR.

The points, the store, the casino, live lines, videos, blogs, etc.

If we really want to make $, we are MUCH better off trying to model ourselves closer to what they do rather than EOG. I think initally we will need to grow this place by being a 'community' similar to the smaller sites but much better done. At some point if we really want to add traffic and try to maybe monetize through ads, we will have to offer great 'products' like they do, nowhere else even offers close to the amount of stuff to draw new posters in.

Remember that article I wrote for Ken about the future of posting and the forums? That main point I stressed in that was differentiating your forum by offering unique products, SBR has certainly done that. In a crowded marketplace that is vital to your survival.

Yup...

Our points when hand in hand there, me with emphasizing the lurkers/casual players and you with the business.

It's funny tho cuz I talked on SBR about a BetTheForum approach before the implemented theirs.

Not sure if u saw when me and kinger brought that up on eog or not, but we showed the sbr thread where I talked about that.

Let me see if I can find it...

I remember that. Fucked up. I bet that single idea more than doubled traffic in a short period of time.

SBR in a good market is easily worth a few million. I wouldn't doubt that they probably take in $50kish a month in revenue.

Imagine if it was caused because of me tho...

I don't know how fast they could've actually seized on it and implemented it, but shit, if they have all those funds, then perhaps they did and jumped on it before anyone knew, hahaha

It's okay tho. I'm an IDEAS guy first and foremost. I'll come up with something even better

Hard to offer something better than a way to gamble for free, with incentives if you do well, to a bunch of brokedick degenerates. I mean shit, they have 'point bookies' and 'point credit givers'. Amazing to me.

Integ already at 100 posts!

I love how we are already busier than EOG, BC, or OGD and we aren't even talking gambling.

yeah, it's taken off quite well

we will have something tho

and in the meantime, we will build up a strong enough union that our site is a SHOW

like i said in my silly rap, It's a Posting Show...

well...what we do is totally prop Kinger into the next jjgold, even moreso than he's doing on his own... take him on a tour of all the sites and BAM, pull him back

if they want him, they'll find him. there's an attraction right there

we also cater more to casual players and make the place a friendly community for them to just 'chill' in WITHOUT ANY crap

i feel that most lurkers are afraid to actually post cuz they dont wanna be apart of the drama. so they just sit back and watch

we will attract them

Oh, that gave me an idea, Integ.

I think we should for sure have a newbie forum that you should run. Be super nice, encourage them to post picks, get involved in discussions, etc.

We should all go out of our way to make people feel welcome, I'm sure there will be plenty of douches and annoying people, but we should at least make a decent first impression as really the posters are the way we make $. Sad how simple this concept is, yet EOG completely ignores and wonders why there are so few new posters that aren't ghosts.

LOL I love how EOG is so bad for newbies that any time a "newbie" signs up he's outed as a ghost. HAHAHA. People just assume that there's no way it can be a newbie because of how shitty the place is.

At SBR if you go there and start as a newbie, they believe it, because they're used to it. EOG isn't.

Ha! Knew that one was right up your alley.

Seems as though the thing that BC, EOG, and OGD are failing at is getting new posters. I mean how many 'impact' type posters have same along since you and King? 0 by my count...

we broke the mold!

and yeah, our impact was crazy

i'm def good with new people and keeping them... integs can get along with just about anyone

but yeah, the MAIN thing is the lurkers. these sites are missing out and that's why i thought of the future of posting post. and when u replied, i knew all of our bs would subside and we'd eventually work together on something

it just amazes me to see that 2000 people are viewing a forum but 5 posters and kinger are posting

Like I said the other day, EOG is dying slowly....

Traffic hasn't increased in a loooong time. The only way it might look like it is bc of Mo and The King and Queen of power posting. hehe

hahahhaha

we should do something silly to show our power there

all of us ONLY STAY IN ONE THREAD for the whole nite that we are on there

and see just what the board looks like with us in one thread only hahahaa

See, now that is a solid idea.

I think that can disguise exactly what we are trying to do as well....

Shit, even better would be one day when we know Mo won't be on the site, all of us take the day off from there as well..It would be interesting to see what happens...
